Coach Brandyn Akana returns two starters from last year’s team which finished 14-3 and took fifth place in the state tournament. The Red Raiders began this season with a loss to Leilehua but rebounded with a 62-48 victory over Kamehameha.

Sophomore guard/forward Ronin Naihe started as a freshman last year and is off to a good start this season, scoring 19 points in the loss to Leilehua. At 6-5, he can step out and hit the 3-point shot, having made two triples in each of the first two games. Junior guard Mystique Akina-Watson (5-10) is the other returning starter, and he scored 18 points in the win over Kamehameha.

Sophomore guard Kash Daley (5-9) and senior forward Benson Goo (6-2) are two other returnees from last year’s team.
