Longtime coach Dean Young of the five-time defending state champion Raiders returns three starters from last year’s team that finished 25-2, including senior guard Mia Frye (5-7), who was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2024 HHSAA State Tournament.
‘Iolani is off to a 5-1 start this season, with the only loss coming to Southern California power Mater Dei (Santa Ana). Sophomore sensation Justice Kekauoha, a 5-7 guard, was named to the All-State Tournament Team last season and currently leads the Raiders in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game. She has made 11 of 12 free throw attempts (91.7 percent). Freshman guard Rayah Soriano (5-7) is second in scoring at 11 ppg and has already made 13 shots from 3-point range, including five in her varsity debut against Leilehua.
Junior guard Chelsea Lee (5-8) is third in scoring at 8.8 ppg, and has converted 10 triples from beyond the arc. Junior guard Hailey Fernandez (5-3) is the third returning starter.
